lareourt to inform you that, subject to your

being passed by the Medical Adviser to this

Department as being physically fit for ser-

vice, he proposes to select you for appoint-

ment as a "ures in the Hong Kong Medical

Department, with salary at the rate of £110,

rising after three years' service to £130

per annum. For purposes of payments in the

Colony salaries fired in sterling are con-

verted into dollars as to 80% at the rate

of la9d and as to 20% at a rate fixed by

the Government and based on the average

exchange value of the dollar during the

month ending on the 15th day of the month

for which salary is to be paid.
